The last challenge of the Dixie Pieces' Birthday Bash is about music.  Here are some of the songs that play my life song.

Music is the thread that's been woven through my life, creating a blanket of color and sound. Some of the very first songs that had an impact on my life were:

 All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth cause I was there and boy did I miss those teeth

Catch a Falling Star and Put It in Your Pocket  In first grade we listened to Robyn Weaver, deejay at WIRL radio in Peoria, IL, when we were getting ready for school. I remember waiting to hear this song. It made my day.

This one has been a favorite since I was a young girl.

High Hopes -- my mom LOVED Ole Blue Eyes! This song was in a movie, and I remember Frank and a young boy sang it with him. Loved it.

As a teenager, this song soothed my soul.

Then in the early 70s there was this song! My goodness, I know it had to be the longest song on the radio when I was pregnant with my first and had morning sickness. And it was popular, but I don't know why. For years after, I would get nauseous when I heard it. LOL

In the 80s there was this one. And, yes, I can still crank it up and love every minute!

This is also a favorite.

Funny that these are all kinda soft and slow -- that's so not me. I love em loud and fast most of the time! So, here's a couple to speed it up a bit: Gwen, Toby, and Adam.

And the winner is ...

me!  No, I mean him!  LOL 

  

I said I wouldn't buy one, and maybe I wouldn't have.  Ha!  But now there's one in the house.  Do you think I can cut a deal with this guy?  Does he look like he might share?  :)

Art Journaling 101

I'm trying my hand at art journaling.  If you're interested, you can go here and sign up.  Class just started today, and here are the bases of my first two pages.  There will be more, I'm sure, to go on the pages, but this week's lesson is all about preparing the page.  Two hours later I have two pages ready, and they're not really dry yet.  Two pages each night means I should be able to get 14 pages ready this week.  I've learned that color matters! 

TypePad and I ...

I've been with TypePad for almost three years now.  Hard to believe.  Their customer support satisfied me; even when there were free blog services elsewhere, I've stayed and been satisfied.

I'm not as happy right now.  I'm working with TypePad's customer support to resolve an issue I'm having.  Since they upgraded things last summer, I've lost a number of posts when I've added photos to the post and then gone back to edit text located above the photos in the post -- all before clicking on the save button.  My machine actually locks up, and I lose the entire post because I must close the Internet Explorer 7.0 browser window.  What actually happens is that the hourglass replaces my cursor and flashes continually in a rapid sequence until I finally use End Task to close the browser window.

I'm sharing this to see if other IE/TypePad users have experienced the same thing and how you may have solved the problem.  Because I do NOT want to lose another post; nor do I want to follow TypePad's recommendations; i.e., change my browser from IE to Firefox or change from the TypePad rich text editor to their simple text editor (losing features, of course).  I was using IE7.0 before the changes, and IE7.0 was working fine for me.  Twice now TP reps have told me that it's a Microsoft problem.   And  maybe that's so, but it has become a TP problem.  And a Sherry problem.

I would love to tell you more ...

but my post is lost again!  How frustrating.  So, here's the short version:

The Dixie Pieces October paper and digi kits are up, are Halloween themed, and are adorable.  You can see photos of the paper kit here, photo of the digi kit here, and the design team's projects here. 

I'm still working on my September project.  And it's October what?  Yah, that's what I thought, too.  I still finish them late (because I take on more than I can possibly do), but I do finish them!  That in itself is an improvement.  :)
